PARIS — Hennes & Mauritz is getting in on the urban cycling trend with a men’s capsule collection created with East London-based custom-bike specialist Brick Lane Bikes.
The line of 11 items inspired by vintage and current cycling style and designed for on and off bike wear is made using sustainable materials such as organic and recycled cotton plus recycled polyester.
“Cycling is a global phenomenon, with so many men choosing to cycle both to commute and for pleasure,” H&M designer Peter Klusell stated. “This men’s collection has all the utility and function riders need, combined with a great sense of style.”
The collection will launch on March 7, 2013, in around 180 H&M stores worldwide as well as online. Prices for the line range from 29.95 euros, or $38.88 at current exchange, for a shirt or pants, to 59.95 euros, or $77.83, for a blazer.
It is the Swedish chain’s first collaboration specifically for men beside its ongoing innerwear partnership with David Beckham.
