In two promotions, Lauren Kiefer has become vice president, divisional merchandise manager for couture, and Kenneth Gaston has been named vice president and divisional merchandise manager for designer sportswear including advanced designer, sportswear collections, lingerie, coats and swim. They both report to Elizabeth Hui von der Goltz, senior vice president and general merchandise manager.
Kiefer joined Bergdorf’s in 2002 as assistant buyer for lingerie and coats and rose up the ranks holding such positions as business manager, Armani, and most recently, couture buyer. Gaston also established a track record, joining Bergdorf’s in 2004 as a merchandise assistant in planning and rising to assistant buyer of men’s designer/furnishings and, most recently, buyer for advanced designers.
“Each of them has deep knowledge of the Bergdorf Goodman customer together with strong business acumen, merchandising and leadership skills,” Schulman said. With their promotions this week, Kiefer and Gaston fill responsibilities previously held by von der Goltz, until she rose last winter to her current job supervising couture, designer sportswear, bridal, coats, lingerie, swim and jewelry. At that time Schulman elevated Tracy Margolies to senior vice president and gmm for handbags, women’s shoes, beauty and 5F contemporary ready-to-wear, sportswear and accessories, and named John Capizzi vice president and general manager for the women’s and men’s stores.
