Boneparth Joins Equity Firm

Former Jones chief executive named senior adviser.

Peter Boneparth, former chief executive officer of the Jones Apparel Group, has joined Irving Place Capital, a middle-market institutional private equity firm.

Boneparth was appointed a senior adviser to focus on the retail and apparel sectors and identify and pursue new investments, according to Irving Place Capital.

At Jones, Boneparth expanded the company’s portfolio through the acquisitions of Maxwell Shoe Co., Gloria Vanderbilt, Barneys New York, Kasper/Anne Klein and L.E.I. Previously, Boneparth was ceo of Jones Moderate Division and ceo and president of McNaughton Apparel Group.

“The firm has a successful history of partnering with management teams and corporations to build brands, identify and integrate acquisitions and execute other strategic and operational initiatives in retail and apparel,” Boneparth said of Irving Place Capital.
