LONDON — Armani Casa will open its first freestanding store in the U.K. in September, at 113 New Bond Street here.
The unit will be next door to the Armani Collezioni store and will cover 6,480 square feet on two levels.
The store, housed in the former Versace flagship, will carry the full Casa line, from furniture to accessories and fabrics.
Giorgio Armani said in a statement that his home furnishings brand was experiencing “very real growth” and that the opening here was a logical step.
“London is probably the world’s most cosmopolitan city today,” the designer said. “There is a high appreciation for design and lifestyle, especially within the home environment. We now look forward to offering our collection and service in this important market.”
By the end of the year, Armani Casa will have 33 freestanding stores and 100 shop-in-shops for the brand. The next stores to open this year will be in Mexico City and Miami.
In other news, the designer has set a date for his first Emporio Armani women’s show here. The event, called One Night Only, will take place on Thursday, Sept. 21, at Earls Court.
An Armani spokesman said the show will feature special performances and appearances by the designer’s friends from the worlds of cinema, music and sports.
