Bloomingdale’s to Open in Phoenix

Construction on first Arizona store, in the City North project, scheduled to begin in the fall.

Bloomingdale’s plans to open a three-level, 180,000-square-foot store in fall 2009 in the City North project under development in Phoenix.


Construction on the Bloomingdale’s store, its first in Arizona, is expected to begin this fall.


“We look forward to bringing Bloomingdale’s unique merchandise, style and flair to central Arizona,” said Michael Gould, Bloomingdale’s chairman and chief executive officer.  “We believe that Bloomingdale’s will provide a unique shopping experience for Phoenix, based on distinctive assortments and attentive and personalized service for which we are well known.”


Bloomingdale’s will focus on contemporary designer, bridge and luxury brands.
