NEW YORK — Kathleen M. Calcidise, a 25-year veteran of retailing, has been named executive vice president and general manager of Cacique, the lingerie and gift division of The Limited Inc.

She succeeds Elaine Lefkowith, who left the company in April.

As executive vice president, Calcidise holds the top position at the 108-unit Cacique, overseeing both the merchandising and store operations.

The Limited’s annual report notes slower projected growth for the division this year. It states that the 1994 goal is “to improve our ability to bring fashion to our customer as fast as any other apparel category” while adding just seven stores. Cacique, which is five years old, added 38 stores in 1993. Unlike more established and larger Limited divisions, Cacique does not operate with a president. Last November, the Bath & Body Works and The Limited Too divisions named presidents for the first time, reflecting outstanding growth records.

Limited Stores continues to operate with Michael Weiss, corporate vice chairman, at the helm, and is searching for a new president since Howard Gross left in April.

According to the firm’s annual report, Bath & Body Works is expected to finish 1994 with 319 stores, compared to 194 at the end of 1993. Limited Too, which sells girl’s merchandise, will grow to 234 stores from 184.

Calcidise was executive vice president of store operations and a member of the executive committee for the Victoria’s Secret Stores division since November 1992. Her successor has not yet been named. Before Victoria’s Secret, she was a senior vice president of Talbots, president and chief executive officer of T. Edwards and a general merchandise manager at The Broadway.

The Limited is based in Columbus, Ohio.
