NEW YORK — Gap has retained KCD to work on the brand’s fashion public relations efforts in the U.S.
The agency’s initiatives will begin with the presentation of the summer collection to the national fashion press the first week of February. KCD will work in conjunction with the Gap’s p.r. office in San Francisco. For the past year and a half, KCD’s Paris office has represented Gap in Europe.
In other Gap Inc. news, Banana Republic has named Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, based in San Francisco, as its strategic branding partner and creative agency for its print and outdoor advertising. The first campaign will be for fall. Banana Republic has been handling its advertising in-house since 1997.
Banana Republic’s in-house teams will work closely with the agency and will continue to manage all other forms of communication, including in-store marketing, direct programs, public relations and events. Banana Republic will continue to handle media in partnership with PHD, a division of Omnicom.
