PARIS — Mina d’Ornano, founder of the luxury handcrafted clothing and accessories brand minaPoe, on Monday unveiled her new boutique at 382 Rue Saint-Honoré here.

The designer’s former store on Rue Duphot will now serve as a showroom. “It’s like night and day,” d’Ornano said of the airy two-story new space, with its walls and neobaroque carved ceiling panels dressed in a feminine palette of pale gray, white and candy pink.

D’Ornano recruited French architect Sylvie Lapidouse for the project.

From the store’s dramatic wooden facade, carved with floating, Gustav Klimt-esque figures, to a series of folkloric bronze rose sculptures — both by Bronislaw Krzysztof — artisanal flourishes abound, courtesy of d’Ornano’s network of European artist friends. These include Serbian painter Marija Jelesijevic and French glass worker Bernard Pictet.

“I love ornate things but at the same time didn’t want the decor to hide the product,” said d’Ornano, gesturing to the store’s Plexiglas shelves edged with dull bronze strips. Other merchandise is displayed on floating hammered bronze rails and spacious wooden units.

D’Ornano also commissioned a heart-themed fine jewelry collection by Dorothée Potocka for the upstairs space, which is dedicated to precious accessories and eveningwear, as well as limited edition lines.

“This is where customers can spend as much time as they want trying things on,” said d’Ornano, pointing out a needlepoint pouf in the upper room’s center. “Time is a luxury.”

The sentiment is on display throughout the store. Even the changing room has been lined with lilac suede to emulate a jewelry box.

Expanding the minaPoe shoe and handbag collections is a priority over the coming months, d’Ornano said. Meanwhile, the designer is already onto her next building project: a doll’s house due to be finished in time for the holidays.

“All of the rooms are hand-painted with fun scenes: monkeys in the kitchen, birds in the bathroom,” she said. “It’s a magic, minaPoe house.”
