NEW YORK — Sarah Davies, Nordstrom’s corporate fashion director, left the company last week “for personal reasons,” according to the Seattle-based specialty chain.

This confirms a report in these columns Wednesday that Davies, a 25-year veteran of the store, had left.

A Nordstrom spokeswoman said the forecasting and fashion direction responsibilities held by Davies would be picked up by corporate merchandisers and regional fashion staffs. A successor will not be named. As corporate fashion director, Davies attended designer ready-to-wear shows here and abroad. Cindy Paur, executive vice president and corporate merchandise manager for better women’s apparel, will cover the collections and provide fashion information to the chain. She was at the Paris collections last week.

Nordstrom’s nine regional offices has buying teams and fashion directors or fashion coordinators tailoring assortments to local tastes.

Paur was executive vice president in charge of sales promotion before shifting to women’s apparel about seven weeks ago.
