Fashion Delivers will be opening a pop-up shop on Staten Island this weekend for the victims of Hurricane Sandy.
The 5,700-square-foot shop at Vanderbilt South Beach will be open from 1 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. The shop is being set up like a trade show, according to Charles Garone, a trade show veteran who is consulting on the project. It will have millions of dollars worth of donated men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and home goods from vendors ranging from Ralph Lauren to Aéropostale.
The event is open only to those with a FEMA number and requires preregistration. Fashion Delivers’ agency partners — Tunnels to Tower Foundation, Third Day Missions and Movement Church — are handling the invitations and scheduling.
“We’re creating a dignified shopping experience for people who were affected,” Garone said.
