Theory’s Andrew Rosen: The Year Ahead

Over the past few years, the brand's president has built the Theory label into a major contemporary brand with headquarters in New York's Meatpacking District.

Andrew Rosen, Theory’s president, has a nose for success stories. Over the past few years, he’s built the Theory label into a major contemporary brand with imposing headquarters in New York’s Meatpacking District; snapped up the beleaguered Helmut Lang label and, with the help of designers Michael and Nicole Colovos, made that into a hot contemporary line as well. He’s also invested in labels such as Alice + Olivia, Rag & Bone and Gryphon.

Rosen is clearly hitting a nerve with his growing empire, homing in on the new, advanced contemporary arena, where all the excitement seems to be these days. And apparently there’s no stopping the charismatic executive. Rosen continues to cultivate young and emerging designers — making him someone whose moves should be followed closely this year.
