For his spring bridal collection for Kleinfeld, Dennis Basso looked to bygone Hollywood eras for inspiration. A ballerina-length dress with an embellished sweetheart bodice, for example, harkened a young Audrey Hepburn, while an ivory beaded sheath felt very Joan Crawford with its three-quarter sleeves and wrap-front skirt.
Basso, of course, remembered the sirens and princess brides, offering beaded mermaid options and ballgowns in pleated or swirled satin embellished with crystals and 3-D organza flowers that screamed, “I do.”
