For her spring bridal collection, Vera Wang once again conceptualized the oft-strict bridal code. She drew upon the symbolism of the color red, which she described in her notes as “boldly romantic, charming, protective, grand, seductive and sexy.” It resulted in an impressively intricate collection, done in a palette that ranged from dahlia red and scarlet to rust and vermilion. Strapless gowns with exploding ballskirts in cascading volumes of draped tulle and floral motifs were juxtaposed against the superslim shapes, such as a stunning strapless mermaid dress featuring an inverted draped bodice with embroidered crystal details at the waist.
