My Ethereal Daydream was the title of Monique Lhuillier’s spring bridal show, for which she took inspiration from John Singer Sargent’s works. The whimsical collection featured tulle, Chantilly lace, intricate beading and embroideries, worked on silhouettes that ranged from architectural shapes to mermaid styles with cascading hemlines — all of them with an effortless ease.

Key looks included an embroidered tulle gown in a strapless A-line cut with a matching shrug, as well as another strapless style, here in lace with a tiered tulle and lace appliqué skirt. The most interesting, though, were the pastel numbers in shades of blush, pistachio and mist.

Lhuillier ended the show on a beautiful note, with each model gathering on a platform at the end of the runway — some sitting, some standing — creating the effect of a Sargent portrait.
