“I was inspired by the legends and stories of my ancient Irish ancestors,” said designer Don O’Neill backstage before his Theia White Collection show. Legend has it, he said, that the ghosts were seen walking across the bay in a swirling veil of mist — an image O’Neill worked to translate into his gowns. The outcome: a fairytale-esque collection of intricate beaded gowns, delicate hand-embroidered dresses with floral appliqués and hand-beaded tulle frocks.
