Austin Scarlett Spring 2016 Bridal

Austin Scarlett's ethereal spring bridal collection took inspiration from one of the Louvre's most famous ancient Greek statues.

Austin Scarlett drew inspiration from “The Winged Victory of Samothrace,” the second-century Greek sculpture displayed at Paris’ Musée du Louvre. In particular, he cited its sense of flight and movement. A strapless ballgown with a layered tulle skirt and ribbons of satin organza piping captured the ethereal, weightless mood, as did a tulle column gown with a detachable train, embroidered with crystals, lace and cascading satin petals. Most elegant was an off-the-shoulder trumpet gown in silk radzimir with a low-cut back and buttons that extended to the floor.
