Although Christian Cota has only been in business for two years, he has still managed to create a distinctive point of view. Draping and hand-painted elements are his calling cards. In his latest outing, inspired by Cubism, the designer did a striking purple, black and blue strapless dress with swirls of fabric ending in jagged multilayers of organza. He also managed to subtly integrate sportswear into an intricately designed collection in which evening is the prime motor, as shown in a charcoal, laser-cut sequined coat worn over a striped organza top and a pleated wool and metallic skirt.
