Designer Katya Will showed how appealing it can be to act the lady – a young lady, that is. Her five-year-old label’s first runway outing was strong on neo-genteel dresses, from tailored, belted styles to frothier ones in silk charmeuse and bowed in the back. Fur vests, worthy of Faye Dunaway, were another crowd pleaser, especially in navy over a matching silk georgette blouse and skinny flares. Will balanced her love of novelty fabrics with uncomplicated cuts. Longer tailored jackets, however, looked like instant agers.
