The fall collection at Fay, the first since Giles Deacon departed last season, was an extremely focused effort of outerwear that seamlessly straddled the line between casual polish and function. Created by a design team, it was divided into three groups — trenches with fur vests, puffers and toggled coats — each just as fitting for a stylish modern woman’s reality as the next. Standouts included a suede shearling trench with knit sleeves in camel, a herringbone puffer and a tailored flannel coat with leather toggles.
