Torn between two loves, Paris and New York, Catherine Malandrino found a way to fuse her worlds seamlessly, capturing the romance of Paris and the eccentricity of the Left Bank and mixing it in with the rhythm of New York. Furs were everywhere from luxe chinchilla wraps to edgy mink and leather cropped jackets. In an ode to men’s wear, she showed oversize plaids and exaggerated houndstooth patterns on trousers, dresses and skirts. Of course, Malandrino included plenty of her signature bohemian crafty pieces in knits and leathers, while she looked to the Seventies for her long and lean evening dresses.
