Translating her inspiration from Charlotte Kemp Muhl and the urban gypsy, Rebecca Minkoff was most successful in her first runway foray when she stuck to more refined looks like tuxedo jackets over leggings and printed chiffon dresses. Also strong were coats in various forms, such as a khaki trench cinched at the waist and flared. But when she went casual with boyfriend sweaters over tweed shorts and snake-patch leggings, the collection strayed a little too far.
