“A modern take on English dressing,” was how the designer described her take on posh country weekends. Among the standouts of this collection were the day dresses, some of which were Fifties-inspired, cinched at the waist and printed with horses and scenes from the great outdoors. Others were more sober with narrower, Forties-inspired silhouettes and pleated skirts. The powder pink and black dress with a raised waist was a standout, while other looks — such as the evening wear section of cropped black tops and full skirts — missed the mark. Who needs a chill on one’s midriff during cocktail hour in a drafty country home?
