Inspired by early 18th-century paintings and Slavic folklore, Alice Temperley showed a richly embellished and colorful collection with a sense of drama. Skinny evening gowns popped with bright, swirling embroideries, while some were cinched with black belts that had bejeweled, broochlike buckles. Other dresses — in burgundy or black — had hole-punch details, giving them a youthful air. Short, swingy knitted frocks came in black and gold lamé or eye-searing cobalt blue.
