Vivienne Westwood turned out a more grown-up collection than previous seasons, remaining true to her sartorial roots with a surfeit of checks and tartan, as well as signature draping. There were tailored, plaid wool coats, fitted wool capes in dusky violet purple and gray ikat prints and long Edwardian jackets with velvet trim. Elegant, draped jersey dresses in pale gray and eggplant, sharp tailored suits in rich wools and tartan pencil skirts added a smart, sophisticated air.
