Take an ocelot print runway, shake it with some wild animal and tropical patterns, and stir it with a rock ’n’ roll vibe and just the right dose of Sixties mod, and you get a taste of Just Cavalli for fall. The lineup had all the ingredients Roberto Cavalli is known for, but the collection was rendered in a younger, and possibly more playfully sexy version — starting with the group of black and white looks, including a flirty, draped and tied zebra print dress and a graphic, exaggerated houndstooth structured top with leggings. The bold, sensory-overload motifs made the Lurex, patent and metallic stamped leather numbers that followed seem almost calm by comparison. The sentiment also extended to Cavalli’s men’s wear, which featured several wearable ensembles, including a peacoat teamed with slim-fitting pants. They showed a more restrained side of the designer, which was appealing.
