Lisa Fonssagrives — the iconic model, first wife of Irving Penn and muse to several other high-fashion photographers — informed Alessandro Dell’Acqua’s first collection for Les Copains. It proved a solid theme for the sophisticated lineup that followed, beginning with the first exit: a chic wool knit coat cinched at the waist. Dell’Acqua created several interesting knit combinations, often mixing different gauges in the same piece. Surface details on several looks, including crystal floral clusters, added feminine touches to some of the sturdier knits. The designer also incorporated fur details, including a hem of mink intarsia panels on a chic linear little black dress. The overall effect was elegant, and a promising start for Dell’Acqua at the house.
