Monique Lhuillier knows how to make the most of a dress — even in the simplest of shapes. For fall, she turned to leather, showing pieces like a red flared cocktail dress and a sheath with a lace back and sleeves, and employed bold waist accents, panels and yokes that maintained that delicate balance between strict and flirty. The designer also went for glitz, showing geometrically embroidered jackets and gowns in sizzling gold and fiery red, but she turned down the heat with a lovely plum crepe and tulle gown and another, draped and pleated in brown chiffon.
