The Croatian designer’s calm, luxurious clothes take you somewhere — the Orient, Medieval times, a monastery. Nomadic at heart, the collection handily referenced a sweep of geography and history. Elizabethan ruffles peeked out of slim-lined tuxedo jackets or roomy blousons with kimono details. Slouchy pants and sweeping skirts came in sumptuous suede, whip-stitched in leather. Most outfits consisted of multiple layers in an appealing palette that spanned from makeup pinks and spice shades to deep purples and black. While costumey at times — especially the Renaissance-style bloomers and monastic capes — Doma managed to make it all seem timeless.
