The textural play that is a common trend for fall also informed Marcel Marongiu’s modern, and at times quite severe, lineup at Guy Laroche. Marongiu started off with a strict plum patent skirt teamed with a soft black top and then continued to mix fabrics with furs, such as a chic black leather coat with Mongolian lamb inserts. The designer also used sequins set in irregular ways on dresses, skirts or tops, which gave the pieces an almost distressed effect that looked new and appealing.
