Jabot blouses and exaggerated painter shirts, trapeze coats with outsize round buttons, straight skirts worn with cropped jackets were all savvily adapted to Yamamoto’s Japanese punk styling. There was a new femininity to the clothes styled with velvet berets and tousled, chin-length hairdos, which contrasted nicely with the men’s wear elements, such as classic work wear shown as jumpsuits, jackets and deconstructed skirts.
