The sculptural, cage-like architecture of Santiago Calatrava, as well as the mysterious allure of owls, is how creative director Gabriella Zanzani described the influences for Maiyet’s second season. Combined, the two could have made for a strange concoction, but Zanzani and her design team pulled them together with charming details and a sophisticated touch. The lineup included flutter sleeves on several tops, a heavy gauge capelet-like knit shoulder treatment on a black shift dress, and several strong evening looks, including the final exit, a quite glamorous cream gown with a plunging neckline — clearly intended for night owls.
