Serenity is Margaret Howell’s motto. Her collections are more about wellbeing than fashion — building on a classic wardrobe full of solid basics. This time there were perfectly cut long flannel kilts paired with matching military shirts or Guernsey knit sweaters, plus shirtdresses and tailored coats and pants.
Howell dipped into men’s wear, a constant inspiration for her, turning out rustic corduroy suits and rugged military flannel coats. In a more delicate vein was a black velvet pantsuit worn with pristine white cotton shirts with big sashes knotted at the waist.
