“I’m on the verge of the Seventies,” said Sofia Sizzi. This doesn’t mean the Giulietta designer has let go of her beloved Sixties aesthetic, but rather that she’s looking deeper into the core of her brand’s DNA. The result was a streamlined and graphic collection of modest short frocks, long dresses with sleeves and loose, layered tops with skirts and trousers — all in a palette of black, cognac, ivory and poppy. A fantastic mosaic print, which Sizzi discovered while researching Southern Italian interiors, appeared on a long coat with matching skirt, as well as a pair of culottes and a short dress encrusted with Swarovski Elements. Also lovely was her long-sleeve, floor-dusting dress in poppy with fringe detail down the front. Sizzi is moving in the right direction.
