Getting a jump start on the crush that is New York Fashion Week, Thakoon Panichgul showed WWD his Thakoon Addition fall collection on Tuesday. With “classics reimagined” as a reference point, Thakoon melded men’s wear motifs with tailoring and texture for a delightful secondary collection. Striped shirting was a key element and looked far from ordinary in mixed colorways worked on everything from button-front blouses to soft peplum skirts. Sharp suits and beautiful coats were done in oversize cocoon shapes, while the trendy sweatshirt looked feminine in a black-and-white jacquard. Cool leather accents appeared on trousers, tops and skirts, many topped off with oversize knits.
