“A comfortable universe,” said Bouchra Jarrar of her lovely fall collection, a tightly edited lineup that was indeed well within her comfort zone — Jarrar does not stray from classic Parisian luxury — and was also designed to make a woman feel at ease. She put a refined spin on traditional men’s wear, using fabrics such as hearty English houndstooth on a boxy Perfecto shown with matching slim, straight trousers, a stripe down the sides. The pants were high-waisted yet not restrictive, cut to elongate the silhouette rather than nip above the hips. There were coats to keep forever, especially one in knit camel trimmed in silk, styled with one of Jarrar’s terrific knit scarves in red and white. Red was a key point here, as she wanted a strong, ultraspecific color. The exact tone — used on a silk blouse and blouson dress, both lined in pink — was developed especially for her.
