Felipe Oliveira Baptista played up proportions for fall, making a definitive statement for shoulders. They came exaggerated on linear, almost plain silhouettes (voluminous coats, tops, suits). Rather than looking sharp, the sleeves were designed without shoulder pads and fell casually. While oversize, the minimalistic look was more futuristic than mannish. Baptista underscored the sentiment by using a sheen fabric that resembled a car’s metallic finish on dresses, tops and pants. Some were done in an abstract photo print, others had a soft glittery surface. The material appeared a bit stiff but nevertheless made for some intriguing viewing.
