Self-taught French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus presented his small collection around an indoor swimming pool. Between the site’s very warm air temperature and the summery look of some of the clothes, the lineup didn’t feel much like fall. More straight forward were the references to France’s national colors, which were everywhere: on oversize shirtdresses, slouchy suits, miniskirts and jackets. Stripes were also in abundance, providing a Twenties Deauville touch to Jacquemus’ otherwise innocent lineup.
