Creative director Raffaele Borriello continued to lead Leonard in a sexed-up direction for fall. The only time the brand’s signature printed jersey wasn’t clinging to curves was when it drifted from the shoulders in dramatic disco capes twinkling with Swarovski Elements.

Borriello played with several archival motifs — foliage, constellations and Art Deco graphics — splicing them with sheer tulle and leather and igniting them with vivid colors, particularly fuchsia. Dramatic shoulders and ruching at the waist heightened the Eighties vibe on minidresses, while hourglass gowns came with plunging necklines or bare backs. As if the clothes weren’t racy enough, Borriello added lacquered jersey to many looks for what the press notes called “that extra dash of sultry.”
