In one of the more daring shows of the Tokyo season thus far, designers Mikio Sakabe and Shueh Jen-Fang took a gender-bending romp for fall. Wet male models sporting variations on the boxer short opened the show before the looks progressed to riffs on dressing gowns and frilly translucent blouses. Other skin-baring looks included a knit skirt with suspenders and a curious jumpsuit-type garment with a button collar. There were several incarnations of the sailor suit, reminiscent of Japanese school uniforms. Many items were emblazoned with cat heads or embroidered with crucifixes. The show wrapped up with a few numbers bearing the likeness of religious paintings, including a sleeveless hoodie done in a metallic flower pattern.
