The exuberant designer plunked two giant chandeliers in the middle of the runway for his “debauched debutantes” show, an orgy of blinding color (Orange! Fuchsia! Green!), rich textures (Taffeta! Sequins! Metallic leather!) and sparkling embroideries in cartoonish motifs (Lipsticks! Champagne glasses! Lobsters!)

While some of the accessories were fun, including shoes with fur pompoms and clutch bags dangling sparkly watermelon charms, this ode to the go-go Eighties was about as subtle as the slogan splashed across the back of a quilted and beaded satin varsity jacket: “Rich Bitch.”
