Komako, the heroine of the Japanese novel “Snow Country,” was cited as Hanako Maeda’s fall inspiration: “The contrast between her white porcelain skin and her blushed cheeks conjures the image of a single pink chrysanthemum blossoming in the snow land of rural Japan.”
The inspiration came through via the color palette — grays, blush pinks and white, offset by a few black looks.
For starters, a crisp white shirt with a removable gray leather collar was paired with a pink pleated maxiskirt, while a gray belted coat featured a silver fox collar. Then, a black stretch leather long-sleeve dress with a silver fox wrap across the bust set the tone for the polished, wearable lineup.
On the more romantic side, there were some notable dresses — the standout was a flowy navy printed maxi number with a delicate peplum.
