As the founder of the Lower East Side young designer incubator and retail store of the same name, Greg Armas is tapped in to what his savvy, urban customers want. He delivered for them with thoughtful collections for ladies and gents.

His women’s lineup was full of modest femininity: A black silk dress with velvet polka dots or an oversize striped pajama top were worn over slim pants with pointy white brogues to great effect.

His men’s wear, however, struck a somber chord, styled for a disheveled cool attitude. Several looks were topped with wide-brim hats created in collaboration with Albertus Swanepoel. A woven alpaca overcoat offered a winning example, cut slouchy with fur-lined interior pockets — one of those special details Armas enjoys doing — and worn with elastic-bottom flannel and cotton twill trousers and a leather scarf worn cowboy-style at the neck.
