Known for his dramatic, often structural eveningwear, Rubin Singer took his fall cues from the like-minded architect Santiago Calatrava — most notably his domed glass-and-steel train station in Lisbon. That inspired the shape of a liquidlike silver organza gown as well as Singer’s key graphic print used on a strapless crepe cocktail dress.

The designer has an affinity for python skin, and here he worked it as accents — on the shoulder of a day dress, spliced through a gown’s bodice — and allover for an asymmetric jacket.
