Known for his steamy couture lineups, Alexandre Vauthier chose a more restrained approach to his ready-to-wear collection this fall. “It’s back to basics,” he said during a private presentation in his showroom.
The shift worked. Vauthier put the spotlight on his tailoring techniques, working curvy tuxedos with precision and shirts that sometimes were shown as chic wrap dresses.
A group of cashmere sweaters done in petrol blue, absinthe and burgundy upped the collection’s daywear options, while Vauthier still stayed true to his body-conscious silhouettes with some sexy cocktail dresses in knit and braided leather.
