No time to change before a night out? Alexis Mabille served a lineup full of solutions for those women who are “always on the move,” as he put it in his show notes.
Mixing comfort with elegance, the designer worked a common tracksuit into a handsome tuxedo in midnight blue satin, while lumberjack shirts looked great with skirts, from a flouncy flannel one to a floor-length taffeta number. Elsewhere, simple shirts were worn as cute dresses and also tied around the waist as bow belts.
This lineup felt more refined than Mabille’s previous seasons. Even when the designer steered into more athletic territory with a series of jersey sweatshirts, he enriched them with just the right amount of glitter to keep them sophisticated.
