Antonio Berardi RTW Fall 2015

The sight of a tree growing at the under-construction Louis Vuitton Foundation building by Frank Gehry in Paris inspired Antonio Berardi’s collection.​

A tree growing on the construction site of the Frank Gehry-designed Louis Vuitton Foundation in Paris got Antonio Berardi thinking about the collision of nature and modernity. To wit: He used rich floral jacquards for a brightly colored collection that riffed on the building’s sweeping curves.

All those botanicals took Berardi’s sexy designs down a notch, but the precision tailoring was still there. The clean line of a pink and gray miniskirt suit was offset by a pink top with a flouncy, obi-like wrap detail, while a short skirt with sinuous folds at the hem was paired with a strict, slash-neck red top.

Embellishment came via tiny tiles of gold crystals on a heavy navy satin dress with a foxy front slit, and in the excess of curves on a cropped jacket and matching flamenco skirt, the latter of which was simply over-the-top.
