Yves Salomon RTW Fall 2015

A Seventies flair prevailed for fall.

With fur trending on runways from London to Milan, and the East Coast battered by snow and Arctic temperatures in the States, business at Paris-based fur specialist Yves Salomon is up. Thomas Salomon, in charge of the family-run firm’s international expansion, said the U.S. market is its main focus, with the brand’s trademark rabbit-lined military parkas selling out in no time. This season, the jackets were also offered with a fox layer.

Otherwise, a Seventies flair prevailed. It came through in a charming bleached-pink shearling jacket with three-quarter-length sleeves and no collar, as well as a long and lean astrakhan coat that was belted at the waist. Appropriating the decade’s retro geometric patterns, some pieces were patchworked from little strips of mink in a flurry of contrasting colors, each sewn individually by hand.
