Peacock dressing reached a new zenith at Etro, already known for its demonstrative style. With Pegasus his seasonal fashion hero, Kean Etro employed feather prints galore, and also real feathers. They capped shoes, pavéd vests and blazers, and decorated tailcoats where tail feathers might sprout. The fanciful theme, coupled with an emphasis on formal and evening looks, yielded some handsome and rich items. These included natty velvet blazers with contrast piping, striking coats in bold blanket patterns, a terrific checked suit and a paisley shirt in striking bands of color. But a lot of what came down the runway was strictly for the birds.
