The Cavalli man likes to hear a driving beat with a dash of soul, and wear clothes with generous helpings of swagger and bravado. With a frenetic one-man harmonica-playing blues band performing behind a scrim, out strolled a cast of musical characters: country crooners in quirky, retro tuxedos; Goth heroes in fringed ponchos; lounge lizards in velvet suits and fringed scarves; Fifties rock stars in their biker jackets in diner-banquette colors. Gosh knows who would wear a lemon shearling coat with purple trim. Still, the show was a hoot, with intricate workmanship taming the rakishness.
