Philip Start’s slick, tailored jackets came with contrast sleeves and backs. One tweed suit had a back panel crafted from leather. There was a strong outerwear focus, too, with tweed coats in midnight blue and slate gray belted at the waist. Trench coats came in eggplant; a moleskin bomber in forest green. Knitwear was also a collection staple with a reprise of last season’s fine-gauge roll neck, layered under V-neck sweaters and button-down shirts. “I like elegance even when it’s casual,” said the designer. “If you put a roll neck on it’s a completely different look, elegant, smart and kind of groovy at the same time.”
